Mercedes Benz World - Brooklands

Being a wet Saturday, Maralyn suggested we spend time indoors rather than at an outdoors attraction.  She suggested Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands, and what a great suggestion that turned out to be.
The venue is built around the original Brooklands Racing Track, the first dedicated track in the world, and features a collection of concourse condition historic cars,  modern AMG cars and vehicles for sale.  There are also simulators, a theatre and opportunities for Hot Laps in AMG vehicles.
Hot laps - AMG - wet - sound interesting?
 Above - 1960 190 SL (W121) - gorgeous indeed!

A Mercedes Benz museum wouldn't be complete without the iconic Gullwing.  You can almost hear Chris saying "I promise I'll drive carefully!"

1955 300 SL (W198) - even more gorgeous

SLS AMG (C197 / R197)

This 'modern' Gullwing was produced between 2010 and 2014.  It's 6.2L V8, at time of production, was the most powerful naturally aspirated motor built and was also the last naturally aspirated motor built by AMG.
2017 AMG  GT3 "Black Falcon"

This car was built for 24hr racing and has competed at Nurburgring, Monza, Dubai, Silverstone and Spa.

Below left - Inside Mercedes Benz World (sounds like a theme park, doesn't it)
Below right - A rainy night in Georgia? No, a rainy day in England!  Wet track, hot laps....

Here's the story folks: When we arrived, we filled out entry forms to win an AMG experience.  Well, we won and I experienced four Hot Laps in a 577hp 6.2L CLS63 AMG.
Jack, the driver, turned off the electronics and let rip! Needless to say, it was great!
